ABOUT SIMMY

Simmy grew up in Locust Valley, NY and circuitously migrated to Washington, D.C. She attended the University of Pennsylvania where she received her B.A. and B.F.A.  After a career as a tennis and squash pro, but mostly as a mother, she returned to painting and drawing.

She uses a variety of media employing  classical drawing techniques and her range of subjects is broad. She enjoys capturing the gesture of a person, animal or even a statue as well as the personalities of pets and people in her portraits.

Simmy and her husband Haven live in Washington, D.C.
